Health Benefits of Gratitude

Did you know that gratitude has been medically studied and shown to improve health?
From a mental health standpoint it
1. Decrease anxiety and lowers stress
2. Buffers depression
3. Improves resilience
4. Helps with connectivity and relationship with others#
From a physical health standpoint
1. It lowers blood pressure
2. It lowers heart rate
3. It improves sleep
4. It helps with motivation and maintaining a healthy exercise routine
5. It improves immune function
In addition gratitude helps improve empathy and kindness. This helps build stronger relationships and connectivity.
Try building gratitude into your daily wellness routine. In the morning while brushing your teeth or in the evening when getting ready for bed. Gratitude journals can be a helpful tool. Gratitude meditations exist. If you haven’t practiced gratitude, I encourage you give it a try.
